We are joining the FOLK Magazine team and other fun news!

Hi friends of At The Picket Fence! We have some exciting news to share with you all!

First, we are so honored to be joining an amazing line up of bloggers as part of the Contributors Team for the FOLK Magazine Blog! Are you familiar with FOLK Magazine? If not you should be!

FOLK Magazine was founded by an amazing group of talented young people, and what started out as a one time limited edition has grown into a fabulous and gorgeous seasonal magazine! Here’s what FOLK is all about!

“FOLK Magazine is devoted to presenting a fresh and youthful interpretation of simple country lifestyles, while focusing on the stories that make America our collective home sweet home. This down to Earth magazine fills a unique niche in the shelter publication landscape: content is part lifestyle, part editorial, all heart.

We are all about Real. American. Living.

The pages of FOLK are filled with abundant inspiration in photos, how-to articles, features, shared stories, and even beautiful advertisements. At FOLK, we strive to photograph real rooms, events, stores, shows, and landscapes… not stylized photo sets. Contributors include writers, columnists, photographers, designers, chefs, bloggers, and business owners from across the USA, Canada, and Internationally, giving the magazine a voice that is all-inclusive and wide in scope.”

Heather was privileged to meet Ben, the Editor-in-Chief of FOLK Magazine,  recently at the Country Living Fair in Atlanta.

Here are Ben and Heather solving the worlds problems.
Ben is saying, “We want to encourage authentic living, support Farm to Table, promote small business, and celebrate the American story.”
Heather is thinking, “I covet that scarf and I think I might steal it from him.”  😉

When asked if we’d like to join a team of talented and passionate bloggers to work with the FOLK team on the FOLK Magazine blog, of course we answered with a resounding “YES!”  We are so honored to join such a talented group of writers!

We will each be sharing recipes, crafts, business, fashion and stories that honor the American Spirit that FOLK stands for and we’d love you to join us there each day!

We invite you to join us there each day as we celebrate authentic living! You can subscribe by email to receive each day’s new posts.
We’d also encourage you to subscribe to FOLK Magazine! It’s more than just a magazine it’s a work of art delivered to your mailbox 6 times a year and FOLK is offering a special years subscription for in celebration of the launch of the new blog!

The FOLK Christmas edition, a beautiful double-sided edition featuring the Beekman Boys,  is recently on newsstands and you can still order an individual copy of it for $6.95

or a digital copy for $4.00! Here’s a preview of the digital copy so you can see for yourself how gorgeous it is!

So, head on over right now to read the first contributor post from the lovely and talented KariAnne of Thistlewood Farms and stay tuned for our upcoming contributions!

Up next, we’d like to invite you to another fun event we are participating in sponsored by HomeTalk!

HomeTalk has invited us as well as KariAnne of Thistlewood Farm to show you, online and live, some fun and frugal Thanksgiving projects you still have time to create for the holidays! We are going to do our best to catch as many of these we can, and we hope you’ll do the same! We’d most certainly love you to set aside an hour to join us for ours!
