Key Lime Pie Dessert Shots and a Party!

My daughter has always had a fascination with miniature things.
Teeny-tiny notebooks and tape dispensers.  Little tiny plants and wee little animals to place in her shadow box.

I must admit there’s a certain fascination I have, as well, with cute little bitty things.  Like cute teeny appetizers, mini-cupcakes and now the popular tapas, which are small savory dishes.

Key Lime Pie Shots

So it’s no wonder I’ve fallen in love with serving small individual desserts with big taste.

Desserts small in size but big in flavor like these Key Lime Pie Dessert Shots! I love how cute they looked in their individual little shot glasses, the perfect after dinner treat!

Key Lime Pie Shots

Layered graham cracker crust, key lime pie filing,  whip cream, a surprise layer of lemon curd and toasted coconut make every bite a treat! They are the perfect dessert for a warm spring evening!  Here’s how to make them yourself….

Key Lime Pie Shots

A fun take on Key Lime Pie, these individual dessert shots, with the tart addition of lemon curd, are easy to serve and just the right size to follow up dinner!

  • 1 Box Key Lime Pie filling, prepared according to directions (I used Southern Gourmet Outrageous Key Lime Pie Filling for test purposes)

  • 1 8 oz. jar of Lemon Curd

  • 1 container Extra creamy cool whip

  • ½ cup flaked coconut, toasted
  • Crust:
  • ½ cup of graham cracker crumbs

  • 1 tsp. sugar
2 Tbs. melted butter

  • Combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar and melted butter in small bowl, mixing thoroughly.
  • Add 1 Tablespoon graham cracker “crust” to bottom of each dessert shot glass*.
  • Top crust with 1-2 Tablespoons of Key Lime Pie Filling.
  • Layer 1 Tablespoon of Cool Whip on top of lime pie filling.
  • Top Cool Whip with 1 Tablespoon of Lemon Curd.
  • Generously sprinkle graham cracker crust on top lemon curd and top with additional tablespoon of Cool Whip.
  • Sprinkle with toasted coconut.
  • Chill for one hour before serving.
  • *Dessert Shot glasses can be found at most home décor stores.
