The new year never looked so Lush!

I’ve been using touches of green in my home for three years now.  It started with this vintage writing desk I stumbled upon at one of my favorite second hand stores….

with it’s beautiful legs and lovely olive green color, I just knew I had to have it! I’ve loved using it as a fun and bright accent to my neutral foundational pieces of furniture.  From plants to pillows I’ve loved these punches of color.

When we visited Shaw Floors headquarters we got the opportunity to have a sneak peak of their 2017 Color of the Year! We were sworn to secrecy but had a chance to throw in the hat our suggestions for a name.  It was so exciting to get the news that they had decided on….LUSH! A beautiful green!

Here’s what Shaw Floors has to say about their color of the year….

“Greens change with the seasons without ever getting old or boring,” says Shaw Floors Creative Director, Debbie Houston. “Lush is nature’s neutral.”

Far more than a single color, Lush is a soothing breadth of green that brings the outdoors in. Versatile and vibrant, its fresh hues can be used in carpet, rugs or accents to organically pull colors from wood floors, fabrics, décor and more. This year, renew, revive and refresh your great indoors with Lush—inspired by Mother Nature herself.”

“Lush spans every home style, from glamorous to rustic to contemporary. It can be a statement color, and it plays just as nice with jewel tones as it does with popular neutral hues in a room. Lush can also be used as an accent color to pull out subtle hues in a tweed carpet, bold print or throw pillow.”
