A few years ago, our dear friends Kara and Caleb felt a stirring in their hearts. They lived in a gorgeous home which they had custom built in a beautiful neighborhood they loved. And yet, they couldn’t deny that the Lord was calling them to a different way of life.
They wanted open space.
And chickens.
They wanted a huge garden and to feel what it’s like to sow and reap and gather and harvest.
They wanted their kids to explore and work and know the joy of collecting eggs from their very own coop.
And they found the perfect land.
It had a barn and a garden and a treehouse and plenty of room for their kids to run around.
And while the land was perfect, the house was well….not.
It was dated and kind of awkwardly laid out and kind of a farmhouse but kind of not.
But Kara and Caleb decided that what this property offered them more than made up for what the house lacked. And they knew they could transform it a little bit at a time.
Transform it into the perfect home for their growing family.
And after living in it for a year without making any changes, it was finally time to start the massive undertaking of remodeling.
They started with the front entry.

Love the floral/fruit detailed crock vase holding the flowers. Is it a customer possession? or a new buy? If new, where is it from?
Thank you for asking. It is a wine chiller (fill it with ice cubes and a bottle of wine), though I almost always use it as a flower vase. It was a gift from a friend many years ago.
Well, it is very pretty and I think I too would flip between wine bottle chiller and flower vessel. . I always look at wine bottle chillers as dual purpose things. Have used for appetizers on wooden skewers! Holds more and upright! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! The foyer light fixture is made by Quoizel, which I bought at our local lighting store. They have several in the product line, all equally fabulous!
