I’m so excited to welcome you all to the last party on the Block…let’s celebrate Christmas in our Kitchens! As many of you know I have been remodeling my kitchen since….whisper…April! yikes!
And believe it or not there’s still a few projects I have yet to finish…isn’t that the case with all remodels. But, I am finally ready to reveal it to the world!…lol Okay maybe not the world, but to all of you!
And, it’s all decked out for Christmas!
I thought a few before and after’s might help to fully appreciate the transformation.
Our previous planning desk area, that we removed and added this gorgeous buffet.
Looking from our dining room previously and now.
Our stove area looking over my remodeled island!
The kitchen just prior to starting to paint the cabinets and afterwards bright and fresh!
And now get ready for picture overload!
You might remember the first project we completed in the remodel was adding a window seat to our bay area.
Everyone really enjoys sitting in this sunny spot! I stenciled this fun snowflake on my no sew napkin pillow for a fun and festive touch! I repeated this same snowflake onto a burlap table runner for my kitchen table.
I love the blue and red against the burlap.
I layered bright and cheerful scrapbook paper for “placemats” and added cheery red plates and blue napkins for a fun place setting.
This lovely piece is from Germany and was my Bama Boy’s growing up. It has held a place of honor on our kitchen table for several years and the kids still love lighting the candles and watching it spin.
I created this little wreath out of branches of berries and tied it onto the back of one of the chairs for a sweet touch.
We love our new eating area, it’s so bright and sunny and the window seat is a great place to curl up!
I had so much fun decorating my new buffet in fun new colors!
I found this sweet little white tree and twisted the branches together to mimic the tinsel trees that are so popular right now.
I filled my tree with sweet little birds…owls, doves and partridges. I placed the tree in a small galvanized bucket and piled ornaments around the base. The tree is resting on a fun old silver pedestal I found at the Goodwill for $2.00! I have a larger one on my coffee table, and I’ll share what I did with that next week.
I included some of my favorite pictures of our family and the kiddos…including some of the boy with Santa years and years ago. I found these fun frames at Ikea
and I love the blue pear on my silver pedestal bowl.
Ready for a peek into the kitchen??
I love our open cabinetry and the curved details and the trim we added really made them look custom.
If you remember I recently shared how I converted our outdated oak island into this beauty. My remodeled island is the perfect place to display holiday décor.
I had so much fun making this tiered tray and my knock off Anthroplogie snow globes.
My nutcracker collection stands at attention in my dining caddy along with some fun festive Christmas napkins. The first nutcracker belongs to the boy. My girl received her baker nutcracker from her Poppa and Nonna…and of course the policeman is in honor of Bama Boy.
I think that without a doubt the addition of my farmhouse sink has to be my favorite part of the kitchen remodel. It is HUGE! Perfect for hiding dirty dishes. lol
I found these two little galvanized buckets on clearance after Thanksgiving and knew they would be perfect on either side of my sink with these sweet little live Christmas trees.
Here’s an up close picture of my beadboard backsplash I installed…all by myself. lol I love how bright it made the kitchen!
On either side of the cabinets I hung these sweet tiny wreaths. They are actually two wreaths added together that I picked up from the Dollar Tree years ago.
I think they look so pretty with the teal blue ribbon. I just love incorporating the blue with the red for a fun fresh look.
Here are my fun DIY apothecary jars filled with candy. You can see they’ve already been raided! I can’t seem to keep them full with this gang!
We installed black countertops around the perimeter of the kitchen from Ikea. They really do look like soapstone…but are so inexpensive!
I hung my husband’s sweet Mama’s cast iron skillet by the stove and use it with a magnet to hold my recipes! Sentimental and practical and I can take it off the hook and still use it when needed.
Across the kitchen you can see my galvanized dropcloth magnetic art board! I can change out the letters seasonally, and thought spelling out NOEL in the blue and red was a fun change.
That’s my favorite fudge recipe resting on the island, I’ll share that recipe with you soon! I love carrying the decorating to the top of the refrigerator. It’s an often overlooked space.
I used several items I already had. I found the bird house at the Goodwill and painted it gold. I added some berries to my galvanized watering can and tied a bow on my apothecary jar to carry over the blue.
Here’s my fun and easy Candy Cane wreath made from Dollar Tree candy canes and a closer look of my NOEL sign.
I will be showing you how to make THREE Dollar Tree wreaths next week including this candy cane one and the snowflake one in my dining room.
I’ll leave you with a few more photos of my kitchen…
I have a few more things I’d like to do but I am so happy with our progress!
Thank you so much for visiting my kitchen for Christmas! You can see many of the tutorials for our kitchen remodel by clicking on the kitchen remodel tag in our sidebar.

Hi Heather, I say a big WOW for your kitchen remodel. Love all the white beadboard! The buffet is gorgeous! You wouldn’t know that it was the same kitchen. You know that I love your choice of colors for your Christmas decor. I decorate my kitchen and family room in the red/turquoise combo. Love it! Please enter me in your fab give aways.
Yes, I have linked, actually twice. Hope that’s o.k. Linked my original Dhristmas kitchen decor and also a kitchen table setting I did. Thanks for such a wonderful party from all you gals!
Hi, I visited all of the shops. Wonderful, the last two are my favorites. All are very talented women. Forgot to tell you, I love the blue pear!
Heather, Christmas is the perfect time to “unwrap” your kitchen! What a fantastic transformation — and fun, whimsical holiday colors.
I couldn’t believe it when I read “Poppa and Nonna.” That’s what Little Man calls us! Is that Bama Boy’s parents? And if I remember correctly, Vanessa’s father-in-law is “Renaissance Man.” What fun things we have in common!
Heather, What a beautiful job you did decorating your kitchen. Everything is gorgeous and I see so many things I love.
xo,
Sherry
Wow, wow, wow! That’s all I can say, Heather! Your kitchen is simply stunning. You have done an amazing job. =)
I’d love to be entered in the giveaway. Unfortunately I won’t be linking up though. Still no new computer. : (
~ Catie
I absolutely LOVE this!! I’ve been enjoying it all along, but I love what you have posted today. You have given me so much inspiration for the next phase of my kitchen makeover. Because of you, I am FINALLY going to gut up to it and paint my cabinets. I love so many things about this that I’m going to be pinning right and left so as not to forget.
It looks wonderful for Christmas and all the time. (And the first thing I noticed was that big old blue pear. I loved that.)
I came here early long enough to join the fun. Then, I got distracted by baking a red velvet cake which turned out to be a couple of red marble frisbees. Sigh…
Why does that ONLY happen when you’re supposed to bring it somewhere? The replacement cake is cooling as I type. Maybe now I can oggle some kitchens.
Thanks for hosting!
Your kitchen is delightful. I love the colors. Wouldn’t have thought to mix them like that, but now that you have, I realize they are very charming and festive. Love your new buffet too. It’s the perfect contrast to the white cabinetry. The kitchen is the last place I decorate. Very minimal in there, but you’ve given me some good ideas. If I can accomplish them by next Friday, I’ll link up. In the meantime, please enter me in the giveaway.
Your kitchen is lovely. And the spinning nativity from Germany? I have always wanted one. I have a metal one from Sweden.
Hi, Your kitchen transformation is awesome. It looks fabulous. I think you really paid attention to details and it shows. I love your Christmas decorations. The blue on the white tree is beautiful and I love the Nutcrackers in the caddy. Great idea. I have to say I love the anthro snow globes. I dug out two old ball jars and I have my snow and little santa candles but haven’t gotten to that yet. Now that I’ve seen yours I need to find some little trees. I love those. Thanks for hosting and a chance to win in your giveaway.
