I love a good makeover.
The kind where the plain girl who’s been quietly going through life half hoping no one ever notices her and half hoping that someday it will be HER day to be transformed and swept off her feet by the handsome football player, or maybe Prince Charming himself!
That was kind of like the Stratford Mirror by Wayfair.
It was sweet and simple but needed a little oomph! a little vavavoom!
This mirror makeover couldn’t be easier. In fact, I think it might give those makeovers Kathy Lee and Hoda do on the Today Show a run for their money. 😉
Supplies
1 Framed Mirror
100 feet of Twisted Sisal Rope
Hot Glue Gun
Bag of Starfish
1 Container of Hard Coat Mod Podge
1 Bag of Sea Shell Decorative Filler
The most difficult part is sitting for a few hours gluing rope around and around in circles. The key is to keep your rope tight and even, trimming it off at the end and then looping back around with a new row.
After rope is applied, attach starfish using hot glue.
If your mirror has a shelf ledge, heavily coat it with mod podge and layer with sea shell filler. Allow to dry.
I really love how this turned out and I have the perfect spot for it in my Coastal Powder Room.
It definitely puts me in the mood for hot summer days and the beach!
Thanks for meeting me here at the fence today,
Gorgeous! I love it! Have a wonderful weekend!
It’s beauty-full! Thanks for sharing. : )
I love the warmth it brings to an otherwise average mirror. The time you put into gluing all the rope around it paid off!!
