You guys…if you aren’t apart of a local home furnishings/decor Facebook group you NEED to find one like yesterday! Seriously, I don’t know what I did before I was invited to be in one. Why am I telling you this? Well, that group was what made it possible for me to get my new kitchen table and chairs.
You see, we had a perfectly acceptable dining set in here already. We’d had it for a number of years and there was nothing really wrong with it except that once we had the kitchen cabinets painted and the new flooring put in, suddenly the wood tone of the table went way more orange-y than it had ever looked before. But I didn’t feel like I could really justify buying a new set. And honestly, I had no desire to try and strip it down and refinish it. I was tired. My husband was tired. And we just weren’t up for one.more.project.
So, I decided that I would try and sell our old set in the awesome FB group and only spend that amount plus a little bit more that I had squirreled away.
I took the photos, uploaded them to the group, set my price and BAM! The old dining set was sold in less than 5 minutes!
And that meant I could go ahead and purchase this gorgeous table from Wayfair (in driftwood) and chairs from Amazon.
We were ready for a style that blended in more with the rest of the house and chairs that felt more open and weighed less than our old ones we move them around quite a bit when we have guests over. These new chairs are even stackable!
The finish on the tabletop has a wonderful weathered look and it’s a bit hard to tell from this photo but the slats are all slightly uneven which gives it a much more worn in feel.
And with the sun streaming in through the windows in our breakfast nook after a long stretch of very dark and dreary weather, I’m so enjoying how bright and fresh this space looks now.
Of course, $12 worth of flowers from Trader Joe’s definitely helps to brighten things up too.
Now, I’m hoping that I’m going to have my kitchen makeover reveal ready for you by the end of this week and I can’t wait to show you how drastically different these rooms look now!
Until then, thank you for meeting me here at the fence today,

Love your new dining set. Did you purchase the driftwood color or the off white color? It’s hard to tell from the photos, especially since your chairs are the lime wash color. Thanks for advising. I am hoping to purchase and would love to know this info.
Hi Cecilee! It’s the driftwood color and I LOVE it! Such pretty tones…not too dark and not too light. 🙂
Love the new set, Vanessa. I have a set I need to sell to and was going to take them to the consignment shop, but I may try FB first so I don’t lose 50% of the sale.
Thank you so much Kim! Its definitely worth trying to sell it all yourself and keeping the profits…which of course go right into buying something else. LOL!
Great dinning set, look so ages with the whitish look that is so popular now. You do such beautiful designs.
Thank you so much Rhonda!
Lovely! What is your wall colour please?
How do you like your chairs? Are they fairly sturdy?
It all looks fantastic!
LeeAnn I was a little bit worried that the chairs wouldn’t be sturdy especially since we have teenage boys using them (lol) but they are great! Super sturdy and yet light enough to move around easily. 🙂
Great…I just ordered a similar one to try out. Glad to hear you like them!
Very nice!!
Beautiful set. Love the crock of flowers!
Great choice for that space – spot-on perfect!
Well done, ma’am!
I absolutely love your new dining set! And I’m also curious about the sign hanging above the windows/doors? It looks like it may say “Farmer’s Market?” I’ve been on the hunt for something like that! Would you mind sharing where you found it? Thanks!
Hi Jessica! Yes it says ‘Farmer’s Market’ and it’s from an online store called The Painted Fox. 🙂
Thank you!
Love the table and chairs that you have married together! The crock filled with flowers just adds the perfect crown to the winning combination of the table and chairs!
Thank you so much Shirley!! If my family was able to see each other around the table with that giant crock on it I would leave it there all the time and not just for the sake of a pretty photo. LOL!
Beautiful! I love the floral arrangement. They look like they were just picked out of the garden. I also just bought your book! It’s wonderful and very inspirational!
Thank you so much for buying our book Chanele! We are deeply grateful and pray it is a blessing and encouragement to you!! <3
P.S. Would you consider leaving us a review of it on Amazon? We would so appreciate it!
They are fabulous Vanessa!
