I was corrected once in our At the Picket Fence community on Facebook. Ok, ok, I’m sure I’ve been corrected more than just once there. But, this time it had a greater impact. And, it started me on a journey towards wanting to know how we can both give AND receive correction in a way that is grace-filled.
So, will you join me as we talk about this hard subject?
What are your thoughts about this whole ‘correction’ thing? I’d love to hear from you!
Next, head over to catch part two where I’m talking about how to GIVE correction. Follow that with part three where I will give you some tips for how to RECEIVE correction.
Thank you i am sure everyone needs this sometime in their lives.
I havent been reading a lot for personal reasons but I always loved you so I picked yours this morning, actually I think I was led to it, and it was just what I needed. Thank you.

Looking forward to this, Vanessa. I’m sure this is stretching you in so many ways. Will be praying for all of us as you share from your heart and from the Word!
Thank you so much Julie! I appreciate you!
Hi Vanessa! I too, have been corrected before in a firm yet gentle way, by a Christian woman, but even so, I didn’t respond well, at least at first. The next day I apologized and admitted that she was right. She was speaking truth. I have also been corrected in an unkind way, but even that time, it gave me food for thought. The Holy Spirit can speak to us and work through others to realign us, but sometimes it takes time. Some of us are more sensitive than others to reproof, and some of us easily take offense, where none is intended. (I’m not saying that that was the case in your situation.) In print it can be difficult to decipher intent because we don’t hear the inflections of speech…but of course there are always those who seek to tear down, based on their own insecurities or envy. It seems that envy and jealousy played a part in Cain’s evil motivation. Motivation seems important in determining relevance. Just some thoughts. Looking forward to hearing more! God Bless!
Motivation is definitely important Rebecca! You shared such good truths here. Thank you so much for being apart of the conversation! xoxo
