Have you ever seen a giant oversized glow-in-the-dark clock? No? Me either.
But my son was SOOOOOO hopeful that this was one when he saw us going to hang it in the dining room!
I’ve been looking for weeks to find just the right piece to hang on the wall above my new/old buffet. I already had mirrors on one wall and I’ve really been trying to find a balance between still having a touch of the ‘formal’ in my formal dining room but yet cozying it up a bit too.
So when I found this giant clock with a distressed white frame at HomeGoods I knew it was just the thing!
And this week as my husband went to hang it up for me, my son came into the room and not only thought that this giant clock was WAY cool but was absolutely, positively convinced that it had to glow-in-the-dark!
I tried to explain to him how very unlikely that was but…well…have you been around many almost 12 year old boys? They tend to think that even though they’ve only been on the planet for a short time they are the resident experts on everything. 😉
Granted, it would have actually been kinda cool to have a giant glow-in-the-dark clock in our dining room, but sadly his hopes were dashed when he realized it was just the plain ol’ version.
But, even though it doesn’t glow-in-the-dark, I think it’s definitely contributing to my dining room finally starting to ‘glow’ a little bit more.
I fell in love with a mirror at HomeGoods as well but realized that it was just too small for the wall…so I bought 2 of them and hung them next to each other.
I think it just adds an extra layer of texture and I love the soft blue paint on the frames.
I think the best part is knowing that as we get older and our eyesight begins to go at least we will have one clock we won’t have to squint at!
So, what do you think? Did I make the right choice for this wall?
Hope you are having a fantastic weekend sweet friends!
It’s gorgeous Vanessa! Well done!
Thankful for you two sisters letting
us into your beautiful homes!
: )
Well we’re so thankful that you come by to visit us Peg!!
You made the perfect choice Vanessa….love the new clock! Have a great weekend!!
Thanks sweet friend!
Wow what a beautiful clock!! I wouldn’t have passed this up either.
On the lookout here at our Homesense for a large clock. Once of those hit and miss stores.
Lovely dining room!
Thank you Linda!
Ha! Sorry your son’s hopes were dashed – but it’s an awesome clock even if it doesn’t glow, lol. Perfect touch over your buffet. Happy weekend! Jane
Thank you Jane! Happy weekend to you too!
Love it!
Beautiful!!! LUV the big clock and double mirrors. Giggling at the older eyesight comment. We installed a BIG round clock in our dining room as well. No squinting 🙂
Happy weekend.
This is perfect Vanessa! Love it!
Thanks Mom! xoxo
What a fantastic clock and it looks wonderful in that spot! I’m sorry to say that I’m glad your son was wrong as I think having it “glow” at night might have taken away from its rustic elegant appeal. Great idea to hang 2 small mirrors on the other wall!
Thank you Lori! And yes I was relieved it wasn’t a glowing version as well! 😉
Beautiful clock! I love the idea of the two mirrors hung next to each other. Your dining room looks lovely!
Thank you so much Cindy!
So nice…I love decorating with clocks. And yours is a real winner. Love the mirrors, too. Great idea to expand by using two. Two thumbs up!
Oh thanks so much Susie! 🙂
Oh yeah. Right choice for sure. I giggled at you buying two mirrors. I did too!!
So glad I’m not the only one doing the two mirror ‘trend’! 🙂
I love larger than life clocks. That is a beauty and too bad it doesn’t glow in the dark for him.
Thanks Kim!
Love the clock….I was thinking about putting a big clock in my dinning room also.
Have a great weekend.
Pam
Thanks so much Pam! Definitely go for it! 🙂
Great choice. I am looking for a giant outdoor clock to hang in the back yard
This is the perfect choice for this space! Love it!
What a beautiful room! Would you be willing to share your wall paint color? I’ve been looking for the perfect shade of soft yellow and I think you’ve found it.
Looks AMAZING. The whole buffet is gorgeous. Great pictures too!
The clock is great! And the two mirrors. I actually have an old vintage mirror in one of my rooms. It came from a friend that moved way across the country years ago. I think of her when I pass by it.
Thank you so much Julia! And what a treasure to have that mirror from your friend! 🙂
It’s perfect! And your comment about squinting…good one and so true! 😉
Thank you so much Donnamae!
Love the clock, love the mirrors and your buffet is to die for x
