Time for Inspiration Friday No. 41!

Inspiration Friday Graphic
Before we get to the party, we have a few announcements to make.. tap. tap. tap.
“Ehem…is this thing on?”
First, we are so excited to announce the Christmas Blogger Block Party! Get that decorating done, so you can join in on NINE different holiday themed parties hosted by a fabulous group of bloggers! We’d love it if you’d help us spread the word by placing our Blogger Block Party button on your blogs. You can find the button and code in our sidebar and more details at our party announcement post! Can’t wait to party with you again on the best blogger block in town!!
christmasblockpartyfinal_thumb[2]
Second, we want to let you know that Inspiration Friday will be going up early next week. We will be putting the party up on Wednesday afternoon instead of our normal time of Thursday afternoon. That way you can still link up your fabulous inspiration from the week AND enjoy a Thursday off from blogging…cause we are! No blogging…go eat some turkey and take a nap people!! Winking smile
And finally it is time to announce the winner of this gorgeous silver teapot generously donated by our lovely Sponsor Christa of Rhett Didn’t Give a Damn.
PB080044
And….the winner is….
PAM
of White Ironstone Cottage!
Congratulations Pam! Please email us so that we can get you in contact with Christa.

Now, onto the Features from last week’s party!

You know we love a good knock-off here at the Fence, and Jody of Homey Home Designs did an incredible job recreating the Pottery Barn wreath pillow! Isn’t this just gorgeous?! She shares an excellent tutorial for making this and we have a feeling we will be seeing more of these popping up around blogland. Way to go Jody!

Anita of Far Above Rubies is a very multi-faceted gal! Not only does she create the most stunning tablescapes, like this Thanksgiving table below, but she is also a incredibly talented recording artist who recently released her first CD entitled Your Glory. You can even hear a sample of this beautiful work of art on Anita’s blog! Now, doesn’t this photo remind you of a Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving? You simply must go and see more of the details for yourself!
And speaking of things we would like to see on our Thanksgiving table, how about this yummy Pumpkin Cake Roll from The Kitchen Is My Playground? We are thinking this might not ever actually make it onto the table…it may just magically disappear…into our bellies…right after it comes out of the oven…with no one watching.
We would clean up the crumbs to hide the evidence! Winking smile
Vintage bottles or those that look vintage are such a popular way to decorate these days. We couldn’t resist these DIY tutorials from Rukmini Roy at Trumatter. She showed us in two different tutorials how to make Vintage Aqua Glass Jars and Vintage Glass Jar Labels. Her tutorials are wonderful and her photography…amazing! We invite you to visit her lovely blog!
I think we might be in a recipe frame of mind with Thanksgiving dinner and all of the holiday parties right around the corner.
This amazing recipe for French Pears Poached in Red Wine from Cecilia at Atelier Cecilia Rosslee looks straight from a magazine! Can you just see this sitting on a gorgeous plate at your holiday table! Cecilia shares how you can recreate this recipe yourself, just in time for your dinner parties!
and our mouths started watering when we saw Marina from Yummy Mummy’s Sparkling Cranberry Brie Bites! We love the thought of sweet cranberries with a tangy bite of brie! We’ve decide Inspiration Friday is turning into Gourmet Magazine! grin!
and last but never least we couldn’t resist this beautiful transformation of an average platter by our lovely and oh so funny friend from Viv at the V Spot! She shows you how you can create this same look using puff paint! We feel it sums up exactly how we feel about all of you!
We GIVE THANKS for all of you and your lovely friendships!
Thank you to all of our features this week as well as to all of you who share your amazing ideas, projects and inspiration with us each and every week! If you were featured today (or have been featured in the past) please grab the featured at button code located in on our Buttons Page found under our header!

I just barely got my post up in time to be on time for your party–but lots of people were much more timely than I! You two have built a wonderful group of participants.

I’m not a very good seamstress, but I’ve been sewing like crazy this week and finally put my pretty new fabrics to good use in my guest room. Wish y’all could come visit me in North Carolina and see my guest room in real life! 🙂

I’m slightly obsessed with lavender and have pla I’m slightly obsessed with lavender and have planted it all around our home. Seeing it waving in the breeze, using it to make simple syrup and just breathing it in as I walk past fills my soul!
Matthew 7:13-14 says, “Enter through the narrow Matthew 7:13-14 says, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it.”.
.
When I was a little girl we took a trip to Silver Dollar City theme park in Branson, MO. One of the attractions there is the Marvel Cave. The whole theme park was actually built right around the cave! I will never forget the feeling of descending into the darkness. We had to walk down a steep, narrow path and I could feel the rocky walls beginning to close in on me. From time to time, our guide would even have to call out for us to duck our heads so as not to whack them on rocks that were jutting out. And just when it felt like we had been walking forever; just when it felt the most narrow and the most dark; just when we were starting to get really weary from navigating this path, we turned the corner and found ourselves awestruck as we gazed at this enormous room. Everywhere we looked there were stalactites and stalagmites. Lights had been installed and they reflected off of these formations creating the most beautiful colors on the walls. There were pools of water in a shade of aquamarine I had never seen before and waterfalls flowing from upper levels. That long, winding, damp trek had been so very worth it. The descent into darkness had revealed light…and life!

My prayer for you friends, is that you will look at that narrow path with the small gate as an opportunity. It’s an opportunity to experience the kind of freedom that our souls are longing for. The wide and broad path of the world promises us a freedom that is fleeting and temporary. But at the end of the narrow path, there is hope and peace and life everlasting.

I’m choosing the narrow path. And in spite of the hardships, in spite of the challenges and the fears and the times that can feel as dark as the journey down into a cave, I wouldn’t trade a single minute of it.
