For the beauty of the earth, for the Glory of the skies, for the love from which our birth over and around us lies.
Lord of all to thee we raise, this our hymn of grateful praise.
For the beauty of each hour, of the day and of the night, hill and vale and tree and flower, sun and moon and stars of light.
Lord of all to thee we raise, this our hymn of grateful praise.
For the joy of ear and eye, for the heart and mind’s delight. For the mystic harmony, linking sense to sound and sight.
Lord of all to thee we raise, this our hymn of grateful praise.
For the joy of human love, brother, sister, parent, child. Friends on earth and friends above, for all gentle thoughts and mild.
Lord of all to thee we raise, this our hymn of grateful praise.
For Thy Church, that evermore lifteth holy hands above. Offering up on every shore, her pure sacrifice of love.
Lord of all to thee we raise, this our hymn of grateful praise.

Beautiful post. I have that picture in my house. My Grandparents had it in their home too and my grandfather wrote a poem about it, from the point of view of the man praying. I have it framed beside the picture.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Happy, happy, happy Thanksgiving to you my wonderful friends! Wishing you the happiest of days!
blessings,
karianne
And a very happy Thanksgiving to you too! I love this hymn and am so glad you posted it. I know most of the words by heart, but re-read each and every one here. How true and how beautiful.
Happy Thanksgiving sweet girls! Hope you all have a wonderful time with your families!
Beautiful Heather and Vanessa!…Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families!!
One of my favorite hymns we sang when I was in church choir!
Happy Thanksgiving, ladies!
Hope you each have a wonderful day with your beautiful families!

Hope your Thanksgiving is blessed with family, friends, and good food!
We sang this hymn at my daughters wedding last fall, and it is perfect for this day, also. I might just get the hymnal out and sing this with my kids as our “grace” before dinner today. Thank you so much for reminding me of these sweet words!
Jeanette
Thank you for a lovely Thanksgiving post. Hope your day and your upcoming week off were and will be wonderful. You give us so much all year and I thank you too little, regrettably. So for all the year when I don’t sat it. THANKS
Janet
There’s obviously quite a bit to know about this. I think it shows some fantastic functions.
