I’m so excited to share with you the next installment in my partnership with Window World and bring you along on my decision making process as we choose a new back door!
You know, I’ve always dreamed of building a house. Well, I guess I should clarify. I’ve always dreamed of ‘designing’ a house. There is not even a single part of me that desires to do the actual ‘building’ portion of it.
So far, that is a dream that hasn’t become a reality and instead we have moved into homes where someone else had already done the designing and selection of finishes.
But, once in awhile, I get to have the next best thing to building our home…I get to make a fresh new choice for something besides the paint color on the walls.
Slowly but surely we’ve been working our way around the house upgrading and updating the bigger ticket items.
And this year we are so very happy to finally be replacing our very sad and tired back door which leads from our garage to the backyard.
A couple of weeks ago, one of the local representatives from Window World paid us a visit and showed us all of our options. I’m not going to lie, I was a little bit nervous because I’ve never actually had to select a door before so I wasn’t quite sure how much information I was going to have to process.
But, I didn’t need to worry! Everything was explained to us to clearly and we have absolutely no doubt that we are going to be getting an amazing product.
This door really takes a beating. It not only gets full sun exposure but it also gets hammered by the rain since there isn’t much of an overhang. We know we need something that can really withstand the elements but we also wanted something that looked a little bit more custom.
Enter the Window World Fiber-Classic series! It has the look of wood but is made with fiberglass providing four times more the insulating value that you would find in a true wood door. And the best part is that, unlike our current door, we don’t have to worry about dents. My family isn’t known for being gentle with doors!
It’s always hard to truly get an idea of what something will look like simply from a sample so we were super excited to try out the ‘Visualizer’ program in the online Design Center. This is sooooooo much fun you guys!
I was really on the fence about whether or not we should go with a painted door versus a ‘stain’ look and being able to load a photo of our door right into the program and see how it will look really helped us make our decision.
Next up, the installation! And not a moment too soon since fall is upon us here in Oregon and we will need to have this done before the weather begins to change.
I’m so excited to be bringing you along with me through this process and I can’t wait to show you how it ends up looking PLUS I have a project I’ve kept hidden all summer long that I’ll be revealing along with the brand new door!
So stay tuned friends and, as always, thank you so much for meeting me at the fence!
