Well, my friends, I’ve committed a major blogging faux pas. In my eagerness to complete a makeover I didn’t take any ‘before’ photos.
But, you have to understand. You see, I had been trying to find just the right thing to fill this wall in our bedroom. I knew what I didn’t want but I just couldn’t seem to find what I did want. I didn’t want a mirror or paintings, I wanted something just a bit…different.
And then one day as I was digging around on the clearance shelves of a discount store, I spotted them.
Slightly hidden under dishtowels and placemats were two wood chargers. At first I was disappointed because not only did they have a strange kind of orange-y, unfinished look to them, but also because there were only two and my first thought was that I had hoped I would find enough to use in my table settings.
And then it hit me…two would be just perfect if I hung them together on the wall in our bedroom that kept giving me grief.
But in my eagerness to get it done, I completely forgot to take a photo of them in all of their orange-y, unfinished glory. So you’ll just have to trust me that they look WAY better after I gave them a fresh coat of paint and aged them a bit.
And for a grand total of $4 and a few minutes of my time, I finally have the perfect wall decor for the master bedroom.
Don’t you just love it when that happens? Well then you won’t want to miss all of these other thrifty ideas from the Thrifty Style Team!
Thanks so much for meeting me at the fence today!
Quite lovely. Funny how things turn out. You have probably shown it before but no one ever accused me of being very observant, so I noticed for the first time your hanging light. I like it a lot. If you hate it and are about ready to change it please don’t tell me…
Lovely job, Vanessa! These are so different and so pretty on your wall!
Have a blessed day!
Wow, these are beautiful pieces of wooden art!! We may just have to ‘borrow’ your idea for a client’s new bedroom! Thank you so much for sharing.
I love bringing in texture to decor and these are perfect! What a great idea! xx
What a great idea! I never would have guessed these were chargers. Awesome find (and awesome price!). They’re beautiful!
It’s like they were made for that wall, Vanessa! Wait…they were, by you! 🙂
They look lovely and you are forgiven the faux pas! Creative people have the ability to “visualize,” so we’ll all just visualize the “before” (lol)! They are perfect for the space and your bedroom is beautiful! Pinning…
I love them!! They are simply wonderful!!!
Your wall decor is absolutely beautiful, Vanessa! Perfectly shabby and awesome. I think I know the orange-y tone you speak of – I have a dining room set that used to be a beautiful white washed pine but somehow over the last few years it turned a ghastly yellowish orange (YUCK). It’s so wonderful to be teaming up with you again this month.
