Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are His masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand in order that we would walk in them.”
Think about that for a minute.
A masterpiece.
A thing of beauty.
A work of art.
Imagine a sculptor creating the most amazing statue. Pouring over the design, putting heart and soul into seeing their vision come to life, piece by piece.
Then, stepping back and looking at it with absolute satisfaction and delight.
Now imagine that sculptor watching as his creation, his masterpiece, slowly began to pick itself apart, piece by piece. Everything that he saw as beautiful, the masterpiece saw as all wrong.
Guess what friends?
That is exactly what we do when we believe the lies that we aren’t…
good enough
beautiful enough
smart enough
capable enough
worthy enough
just enough
We’re telling God, our sculptor, that He must have messed up. We must be the exception to that ‘masterpiece’ business.
But, here’s the thing, we all know that when it comes to a piece of art, it only really matters how the artist views it. Right? You know, it’s that whole “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” thing.
Well, we are the ‘beauty’ and He is the ‘beholder’.
So, what would happen if we began to see ourselves the way that God sees us? What if the masterpiece was able to appreciate it’s own beauty? The beauty created by it’s Master.
You were created with purpose, with intention. In fact, you were made in HIS image.
And, sweet friends, that artist, your Master Designer, He thinks you are pretty amazing!
Loved your statements . I feel that in society we have all been lead to think we need improvement. This has caused more of a problem than just being concerned with how we look on the outside not being good enough but also being flawed in the inside creating low self confidence and a list of issues that can cause serious damage to a person. We need to really take a look at ourself and other with a eye of just what a good job God has done and to be very grateful when we look in the mirror , this I know for myself will take some practice.
Thanks you so much
Rhonda
I love the way you change that around! Awesome perspective:)
Thank you so much for this….a much needed reminder 💜
So sweet! It’s good to be reminded!
This is so lovely. Thank you
Thank you for this reminder.
It is wonderful to know that we are ONLY good enough, beautiful enough, smart enough, capable enough, worthy enough, just enough, because the Savior dying for us and saving us has made us this way! Without Him, we are none of this. Praising Him for His love!
So true! Every man, woman and child should read this everyday!! ✝️
Beautiful thoughts!
Blessings!
Well said – bravo – every person could use a little bit of reminding……because we are really our own worst enermies/critics/Doubting Thomases.
Keep up the good work spreading the word!
