Are you ready to take the tour of another gorgeous home? We absolutely love Melissa from Daisy Mae Belle. Her home, so beautiful and filled with warmth, is a complete reflection of it’s owner. So, grab a cup of coffee or tea, sit back, relax and enjoy being welcomed into her lovely abode.
Heather and Vanessa are such gracious folks to let me share my home with you today!
How I wish my picket fence backed up to theirs!
Thank you ladies for having me!
I should introduce myself…
..I’m Melissa.
And, I share my home and crafts over at
I LOVE to have company…
…so make yourself at home as I show you around.
I wish you could sit right here on my front porch and enjoy a glass of sweet tea with me.
Then, I could take you inside and show you my rusty gate where I have a picture of my 3 greatest treasures in the world…Daisy Sue, Anna Belle and Lila Mae…and laugh about how they can never leave the South with those names!
I’d show you my dining room and tell you about how this table is the very one that my husband grew up eating all of his meals at…and, how it was the first thing I ever painted with chalk paint…and I’m ready to paint it again.
I’d take you into the family room and tell you how every wall is a gallery wall at my house…not because they’re all the rage…I just love to hang pictures!
I’d show you the work table that sits at the other end of our family room…and tell you how it was the first kitchen table my husband and I bought 18 years ago…and how it’s never actually this clean…it’s usually full of board games, craft projects or homework…but I told my girls they had to clean it off because company was coming!
I’d show you my kitchen…
…with my new brick backsplash that I totally love…and tell you how I really wanted to cover an entire wall with brick…but I decided that just a backsplash was a little more reasonable.
I’d show you my pantry that my dad just built new shelves for.
A few weeks ago, I never would have let you even open my pantry door…but with these new shelves…I leave the door flung wide open!
I’d show you my Anna Belle’s room…
…and tell you how she asked me to decorate it for her…just not a lot of pink…plenty of bright colors…and find a place for her net chair. The one thing that she actually picked out for her room!
Then, I’d show you Daisy’s room…
…and tell you how she has all of her own ideas…and I paint what she asks me to…and hang pictures where she asks me to…and that she just won the PBTeen Student Stylist contest with this very room!
And, you would ask, “Does your 3rd child have a room?”
And, I would show you her room full of a teacher center…complete with overhead projector and 3 dry erase boards…a baby nursery…a bakery and restaurant complete with a real cash register and neon OPEN sign…and explain how I could never take a picture of this room that was worthy to show. But, that’s totally ok with me. She is 9 and plays hard in that room. 🙂
I’d explain how we are just beginning to decorate our master bedroom…and how it has only taken 13 years of being in this house before we’re finally getting around to it…and how I should have it finished in just a few weeks. 🙂
You would probably be exhausted by this point…so we could go out back and enjoy some time around the fire…and I could hear all about you and your home and your family!
Life to the full!
Melissa
