I’ve noticed a trend happening over the past few years. When it comes to decorating for Christmas, I always start with the hot cocoa bar.
Maybe it’s because my kids ask me umpteen times when it will make it’s appearance. Maybe it’s because I feel like I can set it up before Thanksgiving without people getting all judge-y and thinking that if I have even a hint of Christmas before turkey day I’m breaking some kind of sacred rule.
Because hot cocoa is really just winter-y right?!
Or, maybe it’s because dragging out the trees and the garlands and the lights always feels so daunting so starting with this one little area gently eases me into the season.
It’s simple and sweet…pun intended.
In a few of my Facebook Live videos lately, many of you were asking to see more details of the hot cocoa bar since you were able to get peeks at it in the background.
So, I thought it would be fun to show you just how easy it is to put together and give you a closer look at all of the details of my hot cocoa bar and maybe you’ll be inspired to clear off a surface and create one in your own home this year!
How to Make a Hot Cocoa Bar in 10 Steps
How easy is that? It truly only took me about 10 minutes to put together if you don’t count digging around in the freezing cold attic (and banging my head on the rafters multiple times!) for the little trees.
So, where do you usually start when it comes to your Christmas decorating? And do you think you might be adding a hot cocoa station this year? I promise it will be a hit!
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and as you head into this next week where we will pause to give thanks, that you will create time to reflect on this past year and remember how much we all have to be thankful for.
I’m raising my hot cocoa mug to you sweet friends…cheers!
Oh my what a great idea and love all your ideas and your cocoa bar
What is your hot cocoa recipe?
My hot cocoa bar is out too! It’s turned into a hot cocoa/s’more/snack bar over the years lol. I even had to relocate it this year so I’d have more space. I put it out early for the same reason of the kids asking for it. The only problem is that they go through it so fast that I’m constantly running up to the store to buy marshmallows and other things.
