I’m excited to be sharing some before and afters of our new home today with our beautiful new Shaw Epic Plus floors! Even our Zoe thinks they are fabulous!
Hello friends! It’s Heather here! I know it’s been awhile since I’ve given an update on my life. Awhile back I shared my beautiful flooring makeover courtesy of Shaw Floors. Since then we moved…again. Yes, just one year after buying our last home we sold it and made another move. We needed to find something that provided multi-generational living and God brought us the perfect home! I’ll be sharing a tour of our newest “new” home later this week but I wanted to give you a sneak peek by sharing the staircase makeover!
We purchased the home three weeks before Thanksgiving and when we moved in we knew we would immediately be replacing the flooring with beautiful Epic+ Shaw Floors. As you can see in the before photo, the home had oak hardwoods, that had seen better days, carpet in the living room and bedrooms and faux brick floors in the kitchen and breakfast area.
I have a confession to make…
sometimes I talk to inanimate objects.
Case in point, over the weekend I began packing away the last remnants of my summer decor to make way for all of the fall-ness to come, and as I placed a bag of seashells in the plastic summer decorating bin I whispered to them, “See you next year guys!”
And, I know that when it comes time to open the lid of the box of Christmas ornaments I will gaze down at them and quietly say, “Hello, old friends!”
This is totally normal, right? Right? Because, I’m not sure I really have any control over it. It just comes over me.
This need to bid farewell or say hello to my seasonal decor.
There are areas of my home that I don’t share as often here At the Picket Fence. Perhaps that is because, let’s face it, you probably don’t want to see a big pile of stuffed animals or a photo of me sprawled out on the floor after I’ve stepped on a rogue Lego.
And I’ve realized recently that while our downstairs rooms receive the benefit of a scented candle, our upstairs area is sorely neglected.
Happy, happy Friday friends!! Notice anything different around the Picket Fence?
It’s a new day and a new look for our little ol’ blog! We kind of feel like those unsuspecting women who are plucked off the street by Hoda and Kathie Lee on the Today Show. It’s almost as though we didn’t know just how much we needed a makeover until we got to the big reveal!
It’s that time of year again…the leaves are dropping to the ground, evenings are cooler, pumpkin spice lattes are back at Starbucks, kids are back in school and there are beautiful fall items gracing the shelves of every store. But, why run all around town when you can do your shopping from the cozy comfort of your very own home?
We happen to think that we have some of the most amazing sponsors around. This is a totally unbiased opinion of course! And we’ve put together a selection of beautiful items perfect for helping you get in the Fall frame of mind!
