Fun Fall Giveaway!

*THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED*

When we first toured our home with our realtor, one of my most favorite discoveries was that it had an attic. A real, attic. It’s accessed through a little door in the closet of the game room and while you can’t stand completely upright throughout the entire space, there are areas where you are able to move around without getting a crick in your neck.

In the summer it is like a sauna so I avoid it at all costs, but as the days have begun to cool and the leaves have begun to change I find myself in the attic again, opening bins and pulling out decor that hasn’t seen the light of day since this time last year.

And this leads to an annual tradition I call my “Why do I have so much stuff?!” moment. Every year I try to sort through my seasonal decor and yet I have found myself wanting to pair down even more as each new holiday or season rolls around.

So, to help us in our efforts to minimize, my Thrifty Style teammates and I decided it would be so fun if we could pass along some of those seasonal goodies to YOU!

As I began to unpack my fall decor, I found these mercury glass style pumpkins and realized that I haven’t used them in a couple of years.

I know that one of YOU would love to give them a new home.

And I thought for something a little extra I would throw in a copy of my book ‘Life in Season‘.

The Autumn and Winter sections are my most favorite.

There’s just something about these months when we turn our hearts towards the comforts of home. So, we filled it with stories, crafts and recipes we think will help you welcome these seasons.

So, how fun is this? Not only do you get to enter my giveaway for these beautiful pumpkins and my book filled with inspiration for your heart and ideas for your home, today you also get to enter to win even more fun fall goodies!

Click on the images below to enter to win the giveaways from all of the other members of the Thrifty Style Team.

I love the crispness in the air, watching the fall leaves gently flow down with each breeze, I love seeing the pumpkins and scarecrows on my neighbors porch (which reminds me to get mine out too), and I love finally getting to pull out that soft cardigan that I love for when I’m a little chilly.

The colors – I love the rich purples, the golds, the rust, cream accents that I can use to change the feel of the house at fall. I cover pumpkins in beautiful fabrics to match the rooms of the house!

What I love most about Fall is the color! The red, orange, yellow and green leaves are gorgeous. I also love how Fall food is so comforting and candy corn and salted caramel are my favorite. But of course, I can’t forget that I also love Pumpkin-flavored EVERYTHING 🙂 I love Fall!

Living on the Gulf coast, we don’t have leaves changing colors -our fall colors come with the migration of butterflies – especially monarchs. My favorite fall activity are watching the hummingbirds and butterflies in my garden. And like the leaves, the hummingbirds and butterlies are only here for a short time.

I love the coziness of a fire, wearing a soft flannel shirt, and having a steaming bowl of delicious soup. The colors are beautiful especially when reflected on the lake we live on. After the excitement of water skiing, jet skiing and pontooning, it is so peaceful to see a lone fisherman enjoying the quiet. Life is good.

Since I love almost everything about fall it’s hard to say what is my favorite thing. But when I think about it two things really come to mind. First is falling leaves —That wonderful sensation you feel when you are walking in your yard or driving in your car and the wind blows and suddenly you’re surrounded by hundreds of golden falling leaves. Ahh, heaven!
The second thing that is wonderful about fall to me is that “my groups” start up again. Both my book club and my garden club suspend meetings over the summer, and there are many friends I don’t see until things start up again in September. Since I live on a farm, fall is the time that brings friends and fellowship back into focus!

Now I take tons of pictures to make albums and scrapbooks for each of the kids. I enjoy the aromas of the fall breeze and all the blazing colors of the foliage. Thank you for the opportunity to win this fall collection, especially your book. I would do anything for that book, so if I dont win it, can I buy it??

But one of the main thing about Fall that comes to mind that I love is the colors…..they’re so vibrant, bright, fun and just darn pretty! Fall always brings a lot of opportunities for larger get togethers. The weather in Georgia during late summer makes outdoor events difficult. Our family has over the last 5-6 years hosted a large BBQ with family, friends, and neighbors. The crisp fall weather allows us to enjoy a full day of food, friendship, games, and great memories.

I love the the coolness of autumn mornings as I go back from drinking iced coffee to drinking hot pumpkin spice coffee and wearing a light jacket or sweater. The warm sunshine during the afternoons and the cool crisp autumn nights when I no longer need the a/c but can open up a window and snuggle up under a warm quilt.
I love the decorations of fall with all its bright and warm cools all of blaze from the leaves on the trees to the pumpkins on the porches, grocery stores and garden centers and corn stocks with scare crows.
I go from hardly cooking and light meals to baking and roasting meals.
Everything “pumpkin spice”, apple picking and making apple and pumpkin recipes and going on hayrides and to bonfires.
    I love the fall y’all.

Happy Friday! I’m oh so thankful for beautiful s Happy Friday! I’m oh so thankful for beautiful sunshine especially when our family has been hit by illness this week. Everyone is on the upswing, thankfully, and I’m hoping we’ll fell well enough to get outside and soak up some much needed natural vitamin D. After so many days of wet, gloomy weather this is like balm for my soul! 🍃 What’s the weather like where you are?

In other news, the hot cocoa station is finally gone and in it's place is a fresh new look that was kicked off by finding a beautiful, rustic vase at @homegoods. It feels like my home is rising up to welcome Spring and I'm so ready for sunshine and longer days. 🍃

Our first ‘laundry room’ wasn’t actually a r Our first ‘laundry room’ wasn’t actually a room at all. The 20+ year old washer and dryer we inherited after we got married was hooked up in the garage of our small townhouse. Our second ‘laundry room’ was an improvement because it was actually INSIDE the house but it was in our family room behind bifold doors.

So when we moved into this home 15 years ago I literally jumped up and down when I saw this real laundry room. Never mind that it had dated counters and an old stained sink. It was an actual room!

We made minor updates to it over the years but other, more visible, spaces took priority so we spent our resources on beautifying those.

But, last summer, we finally had new counters installed and made a few more updates that have completely transformed this room.

Now, it’s almost a joy to do the laundry…almost! 😉

And that’s why this is hands down one of my favorite recipes! I decided to take a basic tea cake and turn it into a loaf of sweet, tart, simple yet fancy goodness and the only thing bad about it was how quickly it disappeared!

The sun is shining and it’s the perfect day to photograph our laundry room which got a bit of a makeover. This space is definitely useful as it bears the brunt of everyone tromping through it all day long but I think I’ve managed to make it pleasant as well. One of my greatest realizations in my homemaking journey was when I recognized that those two things weren’t mutually exclusive. In fact, it’s the pleasant that enhances the useful and vice versa.

I’ll have the rest of the makeover reveal on my website soon but I just couldn’t resist sharing a sneak peek with you today! 🌿
