If you were stranded on an island, what would you want with you?
Would you want your favorite book, your best friend, that perfect music mix on your iPod? This is assuming, of course, that there would be good food, sunscreen and a raft to get back home already there. 😉
If we were stranded on an island we would want these chairs. With that pillow.
And that water lapping around the dock.
We would want to make our way up the beach, across the boardwalk and see this sign hanging on the front of an amazing cottage.
If we were stranded on an island, we would want the keys to that cottage.
The one with the incredible views.
We would want to open the door and discover rooms so beautifully decorated yet so perfectly relaxed that you almost wouldn’t call them “decorated”.
There would be chairs which call out to you to come and curl up for awhile with quilts ready to wrap up in.
There would be beautiful details around every corner and it would take you the entire weekend to fully appreciate each little nook and cranny and even then you are left wondering if you saw it all.
If we were stranded on an island and given the keys to the perfect cottage it would come to no surprise to see a huge porch with planked walls painted a crisp white.
And it would have a day-bed covered in ticking fabric. Of course it would!
And after all of the exhaustion that comes with finding yourself stranded on an island, we would happily sink into the soft bedding on this wrought iron bed.
If the bed resided in a room with it’s own tiny, perfect sink then that would just be icing on our island cake!
In the morning, we would step out onto the porch which would be flooded with sunshine and we would fall in love with a galvanized bucket light fixture.
If we were stranded on a desert island, we would definitely need some bicycles ready and waiting for us to do some exploring.
As we were exploring we would see a building which stood out like a shiny pearl in the middle of an oyster. And it would be just as much of a treasure!

It would be owned by an amazing young couple who would welcome us in like we were old friends. In fact, we might even have the theme song from ‘Cheers’ running through our heads while we were there because it didn’t take long for everybody to know our names! The Social Club would become our new favorite place and it might make us even reconsider ever getting into that raft to try and head back home. Being stranded isn’t so bad after all!

And if we were stranded on an island, we would want all of these people with us.

But, the best part about being stranded on this island?
Well, it might just be getting to spend time with someone you love deeply but rarely see. Someone who knows you inside and out…good, bad and ugly.
Someone who will walk on the beach with you talking about everything and nothing.
Someone who will sit on one twin bed while you sit on the other telling stories and laughing hysterically just like you did when you were little girls.
And if we were stranded on an island, we would see sunsets like this. Ones that remind us how small we really are.

If we were stranded on an island, we would want it to be this one. Tybee Island.
We would want to stay in the Mermaid Cottages. And we would definitely want to stay in the Ebbtide Cottage which was lovingly and beautifully decorated by the incredible author Mary Kay Andrews.
Sounding stranded on an island doesn’t sound so bad now, does it? 😉

Well, how wonderful it would be to be stranded on a magical island with such a great group of people…and a person who you hold very dear to your heart. I am sure when you walked into that enchanted cottage, you could actually hear the angels sing!…So glad you all had such a wonderful time enjoying your surroundings and more so, enjoying each other!….Happy Valentines Day ladies!!!
I’d get stranded again with you pretty ladies ANY time! In fact, how about tomorrow?? 😀 I had SUCH a wonderful girls trip with y’all. What memories I have. Thanks so much for being a wonderful part of one of my most favorite weekends, ever.
Gorgeous! I followed along on Instagram and was green with envy the whole time!
I’m so out of the *bloop* that I didn’t even know the cool table was coming to Tybee. That’s really wonderful that you two got to spend time with each other and others. I rarely if ever go to Tybee, even though it’s the closest beach. We usually go to Hilton Head instead. You make me want to look into those cottages.
Ahh need to go to the beach immediately after reading this! So beautiful!
Oh yes, a great place to be stranded! What a wonderful time you’ll must have had!!
What a beautiful home tour! We will definitely look into staying there when we’re in Georgia! So happy two sisters had a memorable time together! Love, Mom
Beautiful post, ladies! I wouldn’t mind be stranded on that island. x
Anywhere WITHOUT snow sounds glorious to me! So glad you two were able to be there together!
OMGosh – what amazing pictures and this looks like a magical, “must visit” spot! I was completely drawn in by every picture. And it looks like you were surrounded by some amazing faces I recognize, too. 🙂 I want an invitation to THAT island party, next time! lol Pinned! xoxo
